Meeting Activities
The following resources are processes and activities that have been successfully used with CPAGs. The originating county is credited on each resource. Feel free to contact these counties for further information.
Developing CPAG Operating Guidelines. (1 page, 29 KB) This resource provides a variety of topics to guide discussion with your CPAG related to how the group will be organized and operate.

Potential CPAG Topics. (1 page, 20 KB). A listing of potential issues and roles that staff might engage CPAG members in.
Compelling Communication. (1 pages, 20 KB) Discussion questions to use with CPAG members related to responsibilities of CPAG membership.
CPAG Mapping Process Outline. (2 pages; 34 KB) This process is a 5 session process to identify networks within the county reached by CPAG members and connections to Extension programs.
CPAG Mapping Activity: Individual Network. (1 page, 28 KB) CPAG Mapping Activity Directions and Worksheet (2 pages, 205 KB) This activity is part of the mapping process above, but can also be used as a stand-alone activity to identify all of the community connections within your CPAG. The Word file is the activity instructions only in an editable document. The pdf file includes the instructions as well as the mapping page for participants to complete.
ABC Pick-One Activity. (3 pages, 27 KB) This is an interactive activity that demonstrates family living informed decision-making programs. It has a broader application for demonstrating numerous concepts within Extension.
Informed Decision-Making PowerPoint.(114 KB) This presentation was used in connection with the above ABC Pick-One activity.
Where in Extension Is It? (2 pages, 40 KB) A series of 12 questions pertaining to county Extension programs that CPAG members search out answers for on the website.
Community Partner Advisory Group "Homework" Activity. (1 page, 40 KB) Another activity inviting CPAG members to explore more about UW-Extension via the website.
Mental Models Activities.(2 pages, 25 KB) Two activities that give participants the opportunity to explore, experience, and reflect on their own thinking processes. Good activities for discussion and building community in your CPAG.
Hopes and Concerns Exercise. (1 page, 23 KB). A visioning activity asking CPAG members to identify their greatest hopes and concerns for the county over the next ten years. May be used as a "homework" activity to be completed between meetings or utilized during a meeting.
"Extreme Makeover...Extension Edition!" (1 page, 24 KB) This interactive session involves CPAG members in describing an updated image and developing key message points about Extension.
CPAG Process Outline. (2 pages, 38 KB) This outline is a series of eight CPAG sessions. Topics covered during these sessions include getting acquainted with Extension and each other; conflict resolution; SWOT process; development of issues statements and individual member mapping; brainstorming educational opportunities; mapping of Extension programs; and action planning.

Walworth County CPAG 2005 Annual Report. (9 pages, 129 KB) This annual report highlights the impacts of the Walworth County CPAG in their first year of operation. Pages 3-5 of the report present an outline of each of the meetings.
- Developing a Communicating Value Campaign with Your CPAG. A 3-part process to work with CPAG members on developing message points for Extension, identifying stakeholders who need to hear the messages, and developing a plan for getting the appropriate messages to the people who need to hear them!
Using Your CPAG as the 4-H Expansion and Review Committee. An article by Jessica Jens, Sauk County, outlining a process she used with their CPAG to fulfill the Expansion and Review requirements...and strengthen their 4-H program! (1 page, 91 KB)

- Added 10/31/06. The World Cafe is a model for engaging people in lively dialogue around topics that matter. "Cafe to Go" is a concise and free guide that provides an overview of the principles used in designing World Café conversations. It contains tips for creating powerful questions, outlines the World Café assumptions and etiquette, covers how to set up your meeting space, as well as all the supplies you will need on hand to support your gathering.
